Many cozy mysteries have a character named Libby – which is short for Elizabeth but can be a name all on its own. It is also a surname.

Well, it is a surname for my family and it is my given middle name. My first granddaughter has been born and she has the middle name Libby, which she was given because of me. So, it is a very special name to me, no matter how popular it is elsewhere.

While I hope my granddaughter never has to deal with bothersome ghosts, I do hope she grows to be as innovative and plucky as our Libby Foster. At almost two years of age, she is on the right track.
