Dr. Nina Grimm, a newly appointed professor of Historical Studies at the University of Maine, has an athletic build, sharp wit, and flaming red hair fiery enough to match her moxie – except when Sheriff Hottie is around, then she cannot control her blushing. It is so frustrating!

She is a woman with her past in flux, or not, depending on which family member you believed. Her present was in jeopardy, but certainly not as bad as the dead guy she stumbled over. And her future was in question, considering Mr. Hottie – Sheriff Michaud to everyone else – thinks she did the killing.

What was a woman to do? If only she could stop quaking in her hiking boots and calm down her goosebumps long enough to find a way out of this mess before the real killer comes after her – or the Dean of the Faculty becomes convinced she is more trouble than what she is worth.
