I tend to get up between 7 AM and 8 AM depending on when I wake up and how cold it is outside of the covers. I try to get at least eight hours of sleep at night and when I do, I wake up generally well rested at this time. But because I hate alarm clocks or loud noises pulling me out of my sleep, I try not to set an alarm.

This has been my routine for a fairly long time as I have been working as a writer for at least the last 15 years. When I was working at a teen home, I was doing the later shift until about midnight. At that time I would sleep in later.

After I get up, I go through my morning routine, take care of my hygiene and my medication, then I drink coffee. At this point in time, I can be seen closing my eyes while thanking the heaven and earth for this magical drink.

At 9:30 every morning during the week, I meet up with a community of writers, and we do a bunch of writing… this ends at 11:30. Time for lunch and exercise.
